Our Services

Our Independent Domestic Violence Advocates (IDVA’s) are based in our city centre office providing 1-2-1 support to women experiencing domestic abuse.  Our IDVA’s also work in Sunderland Royal Hospital and offer advocate support in GP practices.

IDVA’s also offer support to women dealing with cyber-stalking and social media abuse.  They accompany women when attending court and are a first point of contact for women needing immediate advice.

Our refuges provide emergency temporary accommodation for women and children fleeing abuse.  They give women time and space to make decisions about their futures and our specialist refuge staff are on hand to provide one-to-one emotional and practical support.

Our helpline advisors offer confidential, non-judgemental support and information to women experiencing domestic abuse and their friends and families.

WWiN provide specialist training to organisations to help people to understand: what domestic abuse is; how it starts; who perpetrates abuse; and how to identify when it may be happening.  Training outlines the impact that domestic violence and abuse has on victims and children and helps learners to understand how to respond appropriately to their concerns.

Whether you work with survivors, deliver a different service, or are an employer wanting to support your staff, our training will equip you with the tools to understand and respond effectively to domestic abuse.
